My father had designed a small L shaped shelf in the main hall in our house. At the top was kept our radio National Eko and on the shelf were some books .There was a collection of special paintings by master painters. They were around 20 artists around the world.I dont remember them but one was monet and other was van gogh. This master really fascinated me and I would admire his paintings time and again.Although every painter had his own niche.
Van gogh was special to me as his style was characterised with bold strokes and contrast colour schemes.
Recently I purchased 'art -the definitive visual guide,a compendium edited by Andrew Graham-Dixon from Crossword..It was for Rs 1199 and I thought it was a very good investment before I invested in actual paintings.
I had only glanced through it and had read about Rodin in details especially about his 'Thinker'
Then suddenly a strange thing happened.
I recieved a replica of Van ghogh painting 'Vineyard' as a gift.
I stand amazed. Is it a signal to paint or Study Art.Time will tell.
Let us wait and watch!!
